Izod Impact Testing Service

Our Izod Impact Testing Service allows for resilience determination whilst testing using tension.

This pendulum style test is carried out on a CEAST Resil Impactor Junior that is specifically designed for impact testing tests ranging from 1 to 25 joule.

The Izod Impact Testing Service determines the impact resistance of materials, and whether that material is brittle or ductile.

The material sample is held in a cantilevered beam configuration whilst the pendulum is dropped to cause an impact, the material will either break or the weight will rest on the sample. The energy absorbed upon impact determines the impact energy and sensitivity.

The Impactor Junior is one of the most flexible impact testers in the world. It is able to measure impact strength and the ductility of the material in accordance with the relevant ASTM and International standards.
